Under Armour was founded in 1996 and sought to engineer sporting apparel that would help to keep athletes cool and dry throughout their workouts. They also set out to make the clothing as light as possible ensuring that athletes weren’t weighed down and had unrestricted movement always.
Under Armour clothing is designed to wick away perspiration from your skin instead of absorbing it, provide compression for support and tension in key areas, enhance performance and regulate body temperature.
A broad range of clothing and footwear is available from Under armour including the popular collection Threadborne. The collection consists of a range of seamless clothing for men and women that provides the ultimate comfort. Threadborne clothing is manufactured from different levels of mesh that prevents chafing and regulates body temperature ensuring that it keeps you both cool and warm. The fibres in Threadborne have also reinvented the meaning of “stretch” for lighter and more flexible garments. Also available in the Threadborne collection is footwear made from an upper knit material for strength, stretch and comfort.
HOVR is another technology used by Under Armour. The brand-new shoe technology provides the wearer with a ‘zero gravity feel’ to enhance and maintain energy return for minimised impact with each step taken. HOVR shoes are available for both men and women and come in a wide range of designs and colours.
As well as their fantastic relationship with high quality clothing Under Armour also sponsor several high profile athletes with their own Under Armour range of clothing. These include Anthony Joshua a pro boxer, Andy Murray a pro tennis player, Misty Copeland a principal ballerina, Jordan Speith a pro golfer, Steph Curry a point guard, Lindsey Vonn a downhill skier, Dwayne Johnson (The Rock!) and many more.
